History

The former site of the Imperial Cotton Co. is a prime example of adaptive reuse. The 120-year-old Cotton Factory has been transformed into a creative industry complex, with space for weddings and events, workshops, and studio spaces for artists.

The complex of buildings that remain at The Cotton Factory form one of the most complete historic textile mill complexes remaining in the country. Built with brick and wood in the “slow burn” method, the three-story Mill building, with its prominent tower, housed most of the original machinery. The architectural style of its tower suggests a gothic influence and was designed to compete with other architects of the day. Adjacent structures were used for sorting, painting, finishing, shipping waterproofing, and warehousing.

All spaces are available for both reception-only or ceremony and reception options.

Imperial Cotton Room

Seats up to 280 Guests

The Imperial Cotton Room is the larger of the two spaces with a capacity of 150 people. Located on the third floor of the building, guests start their experience with the journey up the 120-year freight elevator – accompanied and operated by trained staff of course.

Gallery 206

Seats up to 90 Guests

Gallery 206 provided space for a maximum capacity of 90 guests making it the room of choice for those looking at having a smaller wedding. Located on the second floor, Gallery 206 offers a space with industrial windows, hardwood floors, a grand piano, and beautiful natural light.

The Cotton Factory offers flexible wedding packages designed to fit a range of planning styles - whether you’re going more DIY or want additional support built in.

All wedding packages include:

• 10:00am - 1:00am event day access
• On-site venue manager and event day staff
• Access to preferred vendors
• Catalogue of in-house furniture
• Tables and chairs
• Setup and teardown
• Complimentary room flip from ceremony to reception
• Free parking
• Photo access throughout the building

Couples also have access to a private, lockable suite on-site and can book a weekday rehearsal (based on availability).

Additional services available for add-on include:

• Partial or full planning assistance
• In-house bartending services
• Catering packages with partner caterers

• Day-before setup or day-after teardown

Pricing and Packages

 As of 2026, the pricing for the Cotton Factory is as follows:

Gallery 206 Rental - from $4,500 + HST

Ideal for smaller weddings (up to 90 guests). This entry-level package includes full-day access, tables, chairs, setup and teardown, and ceremony-to-reception room flip.

Imperial Cotton Room Rental - from $5,200 + HST

Designed for larger guest counts (up to 280 guests). Includes the same core venue inclusions with access to the larger open-concept industrial space.

Rental + All-Inclusive Collection - from $15,000 + HST

A more comprehensive package option is now also available for weddings at the Cotton Factory and includes the room rental of your choice, full catering services (cocktails and plated dinner), day-of coordination, and other exclusive services.
