Sandun & Avani’s proposal session at McMaster University was one of those shoots that instantly felt special - and not just because McMaster University engagement photos are always a win. These two met while living in residence at McMaster, so coming back to campus for their proposal felt full-circle in the best way.
As a photographer (and a former Mac student myself), I’ll never stop loving the grounds here. McMaster University proposal sessions have such a great mix of history, greenery, and iconic architecture, and it all photographs beautifully in every season. You can walk for five minutes and get a totally different look, which is why McMaster University engagement photos are always so versatile.
Sandun planned the proposal at Edwards Arch - a classic McMaster University proposal spot for a reason. It’s tucked away, intimate, and the perfect size to keep things feeling personal without an audience. When Sandun got down on one knee and Avani realized what was happening, her reaction was pure joy. Those are the moments I live for as a photographer.
After the proposal, we wandered the campus capturing relaxed, candid McMaster University engagement photos that felt true to them. Lots of laughs, lots of connection, and that unmistakable energy of two people who are very clearly meant to be together.
